The Webster’s definition for anxiety is:
1. Fear or nervousness about what might happen
2. A feeling of wanting to do something very much
Wishing we could do something about a situation mixed with self doubt, fear, or uneasiness is a situation ripe for anxiety. Even not knowing what to do about a situation can cause anxiety. In my upcoming class Freedom from Anxiety, Depression and Overwhelming Stress, I will share many tools for assisting with this issue. See my class schedule here.
Thinking too far out in the future can cause anxiety as well, because the ego knows it cannot control the future. The best thing to do in that situation is to bring your thoughts back into today. Live in the NOW moment. Everything we need at any given time is available. Don’t worry about the bill due tomorrow; it’s not due yet.
Nature is my comforter. When I go outside and pet the goats or cats, I’m reminded that they aren’t worried.. People worry, animals, not so much.“Surrender to God all things and greet all circumstances with a smile.”…. Amma
I have a few mantras that I say.
God is never late…
I cast this burden on the Christ within and I go free.
Stop thinking about it. If you can’t stop thinking about it, try taking a nap. You need a reset. Your brain is very much like a computer as it can get overloaded and needs a reset. You tend to worry more when you are tired.
There are also herbs, supplements, and relaxation tools that help calm your system. Meditation is one of my favorites, as well as massage therapy. Reiki and Access the Bars also help to clear out the clutter in your mind and energetic field. Often times the anxiety is not even ours, but energy that we have picked up off other people. I clear my energy field every day and I will include these techniques in my class.
Citizens stressed by gnawing economic and social anxieties are very common in today’s world. When I was 16, I would read the news and cry. My dad said, whats wrong? I would say, I feel like I came here to help the world and I don’t see how. So I made the decision to not listen to news or read the paper because I feel that if I can keep me in peace, then that is my first responsibility.
Ask yourself if you can do anything about a situation and if you don’t know what to do, stop thinking about it.
If you are meant to do something, then it will be revealed…but usually only after you get into the state of peace. Meditation is a technique to train the mind to be still. After 30 years of meditation I can quiet my mind. Why is this important? If you find yourself in anxiety you need to quiet your mind so your not running things round and round in your mind like a hamster wheel. Oh yes, I have been there.
There are tools to help with every situation and I would love to assist you on your journey.
Blessings, Diane
