Meditation is one of my favorite things to do. I start each day with meditation and have done so for over 30 years.
Timing is important. What you think about in the first 17 seconds sets the tone for your entire day. Gratitude for being alive and all that you have will create more wonderful things to be thankful for. I rarely have bad days. Some are challenging, but not bad days.
Meditation instructors encourage meditation within the first 30 minutes upon arising. What you do within the first 30 minutes sets the tone for your entire day. It makes for a much more peaceful and organized day when you start this way. I can feel scattered, maybe even overwhelmed with all that I have to do that day. After I spend 20 minutes meditating, it seems like it all gets organized somehow. I know the first thing I need to do, then the next, etc.
It’s all put into perspective.
Meditation is a practice to quiet the mind, not think about something. It is listening. With my spirit…to the still small voice inside. It’s about allowing myself to be in a receptive mode. To release resistance. To be guided to be my best self. To feel the connection with Source/Creator/God…. for Divine guidance and direction…thy will be done this day.
If you would like assistance to learn meditation, I can help you get started with that. Contact me and watch my website for listings for upcoming meditation classes.
